Panning technique
Today I went to Alnwick, Northumberland in the hope that there would be some interesting traffic to practice the panning technique.
The weather was very dreary, a horrible cold misty day and while at the town it felt very sleepy as if people decided to stay in doors rather than venture outside.
Finding a good spot was tricky that was not obstructed by cars or interrupted by pedestrians.
For camera settings I did a little research on the web and very grateful in particular for Gavin Hoey's Adorama tutorial on youtube.
Essentially you should shoot in shutter priority mode at around 1/30 sec on a continuous shooting mode and try to follow the subject with the camera at the same speed.
Here are the best photos that I took today, clearly I need a bit more practice!
